Public Notice - Zoning Hearing Board - April 21, 2026

The Peters Township Zoning Hearing Board will conduct a Public Hearing on April 21, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Peters Township Municipal Building (Council Chambers), located at 610 E. McMurray Road, McMurray, Pennsylvania 15317, to consider the following:

ZHB-26-000473    A request for a variance from §440-403.1C of the Peters Township Zoning Ordinance by Angelina Hazel, for the property located at 301 Darcy Court. Specifically, to construct a deck of the rear of the home. The deck proposes a 15 foot front yard setback, encroaching 5 feet into the required 20 foot front yard setback.

ZHB-26-000474    A request for a variance from §440-403.1C of the Peters Township Zoning Ordinance by Paul Hauber, for the property located at 163 Lelak Lane. Specifically, to place a sport court 5 feet from the side yard property line. The current minimum side yard setback for that property is 15 feet.

You may at this time submit your comments in writing, in person, or through a representative. If you wish to establish your right to appeal the decision of the board, you must attend and sign the required form at the hearing requesting status as a party to the proceedings. Documents related to this request are available for review at the Township Planning Department during regular business hours (Monday-Friday|8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.).

The Peters Township Parks & Recreation Board will meet hold a special meeting on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.  The meeting will be held in the conference room of the Community Recreation Center, 700 Meredith Drive, Venetia, PA 15367.

Public Notice: Board Meeting Dates for 2026

Listed below are the various Peters Township Boards with their meeting dates, times, and locations for 2026:

Cable TV Board – Meets quarterly (1/27, 4/28, 9/22, & 11/24) at 7:00 p.m. at the TV Studio at Peters Township High School located at 121 Rolling Hills Drive, McMurray, PA 15317.  

Environmental Quality Board – Meets the second Tuesday each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Caucus Room of the Municipal Building, 610 E. McMurray Road, McMurray, PA 15317

Library Board – Meets the second Tuesday each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Reading Room on the second floor of the Library, 616 E. McMurray Road, McMurray, PA 15317.  There is no Library Board meeting in August.

Parks and Recreation Board – Meets the third Thursday each month at 6:00 p.m. in the conference room of the Community Recreation Center, 700 Meredith Drive, Venetia, PA 15367.

Planning Commission - Meets the second Thursday each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers room of the Municipal Building.  Special meetings are on the fourth Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers.

All times are prevailing time.  All meetings are open to the public; if special accommodations are needed for the hearing impaired, please contact the Township Manager 72 hours in advance.

Public Notice - Council Meetings for 2026

Peters Township will hold regular Council meetings on the second and fourth Mondays of each month in 2026 except for the second meeting in May that instead will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, and except for the second meeting in December that instead will be held on Monday, December 21, 2026.  All meetings will begin at 7:30 p.m. prevailing time in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building, located at 610 East McMurray Road, McMurray, PA 15317.  

Agendas for meetings are available the Friday preceding the meeting on-line at www.peterstownship.com under the Council page.  Upon one-week notice, assistance will be provided for the hearing impaired.
