Senior Citizen Discount

All residents 65 years of age or older qualify for a 10% discount on their garbage billing. To receive the discount:

Mail, fax, email, or bring (in-person) a copy of your identification, including age and current address to

Discount will be applied starting with the next quarter's billing.

Low-Income Discount

Those eligible for this discount must be one of the following:

Senior Citizens (65 and over)
Widows or Widowers aged 50 or over
Disabled

He/She must also:

Have an annual household income below $35,000 at his/her residence

Note: If you have rear house/yard pickup, you are NOT eligible for the low-income discount. You must have regular curbside pickup to use this program.

Snowbird Discount

If you are going to be away from your house for three or more consecutive months , call the Peters Township Municipal Building at 724-941-4180 to temporarily suspend garbage service. While on the snowbird list, you may not put any garbage out under any circumstances.

Additional Information

If you qualify for both discounts, you will receive the Low Income Discount (a minimum of 10%) instead of the Senior Citizen Discount. Discounts cannot be combined.
